Music Ecosystems
We are advocates for music ecosystems:
Music ecosystems by definition is when each entity within the system, (such as community engagement/consumers, music education, governance, leadership, nightlife, sports, media, availability of venues, social media presence, and musical diversity), make it possible for the music industry to thrive in a city, town, or village. Here are some examples of these entities:
Education. Music education and professional development programs.
Governance. This would include policy, arts councils, city and event planners, licensing, economic development teams, and community leaders (mayor, town/city manager, etc).
Media. This includes broadcasting, public relations, social media, and both written and digital media.
Community Involvement. This includes music consumers and community interest and engagement with musicians and others in your music community.
A thriving music economy fuels job creation, economic growth, tourism development, and it strengthens a town/city’s brand. In addition, it attracts younger highly skilled workers.
Strong music communities connect people and bridge cultural divides.
